Ludek grows in the Lord!
About 2 months ago Ludek placed his trust in Jesus Christ, and he hasn’t been the same since. He is excited about learning more and more about the Bible and how he can know the Lord better. We had a volunteer team in two weeks ago, and Ludek shared his testimony with them all. He then went with two of the men out for prayerwalking in Olomouc. Steve encouraged him to tell his coworkers about his decision to follow Christ and how they can know God personally. Even though they laughed in his face, he still shared with two coworkers and wants to tell more people! We meet on a regular basis for bible study, prayer, and fellowship. Continue to pray for his girlfriend, Martina, that she will come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ as well.
Prayer, prayer, and more prayer!
6 men from Dublin Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio came to prayerwalk in our city Olomouc and in Ostrava(the city we initially lived in). We spent five full days praying for an average of 6 hours each day. We dispersed in three teams and would meet back up for lunch and dinner each day. Each team found areas of interest and were able to share with us about places we didn’t know existed. At one point we prayed specifically for the men of the city. That night we were able to connect with 2 men who poured their lives out to us. One of which is our neighbor! Pray for Milan.
Crutchmaster
Steve pulled ligaments and tendons in his ankle while playing basketball last Tuesday. He is wearing a brace, crutching it, and staying off of his feet as much as possible. Pray for Steve’s ankle, and also April has she holds the family together during this time. Steve has decided that he won’t attempt any more 360 slam dunks, but will settle for a tomahawk slam from now on. ?
Adoption
Many of you are aware of the fact that we are currently in the process of adopting a baby. Please be in prayer for the future baby boy Brown. It is out prayer that this child would one day go back to his people group and bring the gospel to them.
We have requested a baby boy. The names have been whittled down to Ezekial(Zeke) James and Calvin James.
From Tackling Steve to Sitting in our Living room
About 9 months ago a guy came up behind Steve and tried to tackle him out in the street. It turned out that this man lived around the block from us and is an alcoholic. We always see him out walking his 200lb(at least) Alaskan Malamute, so we have been able to build a relationship with him and his girlfriend. Recently, his girlfriend has given birth to a little girl. We bought them a few little gifts, and they invited themselves over to our home. Neither of them speak English, so it was extremely difficult to converse with them as we are sure he was under the influence. We had a nice visit with them and offered them a New Testament and a tract, they took them both eagerly and said thank you. Pray for Pavel, his girlfriend(we aren’t sure what her name is), and their newborn baby, Monika.
Chloe’s Birthday! #5
We celebrated Chloe’s birthday last Saturday with 20 children and 14 adults. Our place was packed! Everyone enjoyed the “American Party”, especially all the children. Steve and April were able to build on and make new relationships. Pray for Marek Olsansky- This is the father of one of the boys that came. Marek and Steve sat next to one another the entire time(remember Steve is on crutches) and became quick friends. Marek and Steve will be getting together with one another in the coming weeks. Our families will be getting together as well. Pray for the Olsansky family.
