Pavel
Last month we told you about an alcoholic man, Pavel, who has a brand new baby. He, his girlfriend, and little Monika came to our house. We were able to give them New Testaments and tracks explaining how they could obtain the salvation and the forgiveness of sin. We have seen Pavel a number of times in the last month and have had an opportunity to speak more with him about a relationship with God. When asked if he ever had been to church before, he said that he has gone to the Catholic church. We expected this as the Catholic church is very influential in this city. Pavel went on to tell us that when he dies, he knows where he will go because people from America came to his apartment and painted all of his rooms and shared with him what they believe. When Pavel began to ask Steve where his nametag was, it became clear who has also influenced him. The Mormons had talked to Pavel and shared with him what they believed. Steve explained to Pravel that there are great differences between what we believe, Mormons, and Cahtolics. Pavel has invited Steve over to his house to discuss this further. Ludek will accompanying Steve and share what the Lord has done in his life, and also translate for Steve. Pray for Pavel, Ludek, and Steve.

Ludek
Please be in prayer for Ludek over the next two weeks.
Please pray to the Lord that He would open Martina’s(Ludek’s girlfriend) heart to the gospel.

Free at last!
After 5 weeks of “crutching” it Steve is once again walking on two feet. It’s a good thing too because he was about to go crazy. One day after he was off the crutches he decided to test his ankle out and play 2 hours of basketball. The ankle felt very weak, but it passed the test.

Mmmm…Christmas Party!
The whole family went to Steve’s Basketball Team’s Christmas Party. We had a great time with everyone and enjoyed all the Christmas treats. Steve and April experienced what the Czechs call “beef-steak”. Beef-steak sounds good doesn’t it? OK, how about if the meat is completely raw with raw egg, onions, paprika, garlic, salt, ketchup, and mustard? Steve enjoyed it very much so, but April spread it sparingly on toast. Steve had the opportunity to enjoy it a second time the following morning…hehehehe

70+
We have compiled a list of over 70 people in Olomouc and Ostrava that we have had an opportunity to share our lives and the message of hope in our Savior with. We will be putting this list on our website and ask you all begin to pray for each individual person, asking that God would save them. It is our desire that God would birth a church out of these 70 people.

Language, Jazyk!
Learning the Czech language has been going very well for the entire family. The kids have really taken off with it in the last 2 months. We now have arguments over toys in Czech! Sophie is bilingual now. It is so amazing to hear her speak both English and Czech. Steve and April continue to plug along 12 hours a week with their tutor.
Pray for that their language teacher, Jitka, would find Salvation in Jesus Christ.

Lottie! Lottie!
It is that time of year again where Southern Baptist’s will be giving generously to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering. 100% of the offering goes directly to International Mission Board missionaries overseas. We would like to thank each of you who have generously given and those of you who will be giving.

For Christmas!!!! Thank God for sending his Son

That Steve is walking once again!

Chloe, Vance, and Sophie have really progressed in the Czech language and have become very comfortable in the Czech culture

That many people in Olomouc are hearing the gospel-many for the first time.

That Steve and April were able to take a day trip to Vienna and enjoy Burger King, Starbucks, shopping, and sightseeing.

April’s health—April currently has laryngitis

Ludek and his walk with the Lord

For the 70+ contacts that we have made, that God would open their hearts, and birth a church out of the redeemed.

That God would fill the remaining open position we have for a male college summer intern

Please lift up the Jati family as they are going through a very difficult time. Pray that we would show the love of Christ to this hurting family.

Pray for the adoption process. We are awaiting an invitation to our psychological interview. Pray we pass(ha)! Pray for the little boy that we are hoping to adopt.

We thank you and love you all!
Steve, April, Chloe, Vance, and Sophie
